Alexandra Gil studied engineering, film, and history as an undergraduate at Duke University and spent seven years as a practicing intellectual property attorney in New York. She recently earned her MLIS from LIU Palmer, where she completed a masters project exploring how academic institutions address intellectual property issues, with recommendations for cost-effective educational initiatives. She also completed an internship at the Library of William Cullen Bryant (Cedarmere), where she gained experience in assessing rare books, engaging in conservation activities, database building, and collection policy development. After attending her first SLA Conference this year in Philadelphia, she is excited to have the opportunity to become more involved with SLA.
