Stephanie L. Gross is an academic librarian in New York City. She began her professional life as a classroom instructor of English as a Foreign Language in the Middle East before turning her attention to librarianship here in the United States. She has always been intrigued by teaching literacy and the acquisition of information. Her formal involvement in mentoring began in 2008 during the recession. She hopes to spare young professionals some of the hardships she endured during the 1980’s and 1990’s through her involvement with SLA and ACRLNY.
